Down at the allotment the strawberries and broad beans may be on the wane but there are such riches still to come.
We're not keen on cabbages and weren't sure why we had planted some. Imagine how delighted we were when they emerged looking like this!
This fabulous bloom is full of Halloween promise. We like pumpkins for decoration rather than eating.
I love to sit on my little stone bench, in the sunshine, looking at this heartwarming view:
and then there is the pleasure of slipping next-door-but-one to my daughter-in-law's plot to admire her superlative strawberries.
