Jellyroll and Jam

Today I went on an awesome course to learn how to turn this jellyroll into a 48" X 70" quilt.

Now I have to finish the top layer before the 4th of September because that's when I go back to be shown how to do the quilting!

With a great deal of luck and a prevailing wind, I hope to post a picture of the finished article before Autumn is out
.

And now to the jam!

Yesterday I brought home over 5 lbs of strawberries from the allotment. I pondered what to do with them for a minute or two, but there was really no contest. It had to be jam. I love strawberry jam.

I sprinkled the strawberries with sugar before I went to bed. Delia assures me that steeping them in sugar overnight is the way to keep strawberries whole in jam.

No time first thing so the jam had to be made this evening, fatigue or no fatigue. I poured myself a stiff drink, dissolved the sugar, added the juice of t
wo lemons and turned up the flame!

When was Delia ever wrong?
