Sadly my mother-in-law died recently. We miss her very much.
We have inherited some of the family treasures including this piano stool. It holds a lot of memories, not least those of my husband's sit-upon! He spent many, many child-hood and teenage hours perched thereon, gradually turning himself into the musician he is today.
Methinks this heirloom deserves some very special treatment so I have embarked on a needlepoint project, entitled 'Mozart's Bottom', to create a new seat cover.
I have chosen one of Beth Russell's delicious Strawberry Thief kits. There it was waiting for me at Liberty! It was exactly the right size, blends in well with our sitting room and, best of all, was inspired by William Morris.I have even made a bag to protect the canvas when I'm not working on it. I just love that yummy Kaffee Fassett Geranium fabric.
